Do you have a small business website yet?

Websites these days are as ubiquitous as a Starbucks coffee shop, and they are as diverse as the people who create them. Yet, amazingly, there are many small businesses who are still operating without a website, or any kind of internet presence. Which is quite surprising since the internet, as we know it, has been around since 1990, when computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web.

Sure, online versions of those directories still exist, and there is a place for them still. Trends change, too. If your customers are on Twitter today, they might be on Snapchat or a new platform that none of us have even heard of tomorrow. As people switch from one tool to the next, your website acts as an anchor. No matter what platform customers prefer, they can always find your website in the same place, available to everyone.

You website will always be the ‘hub’ of your online presence. You can modify it over time to reflect the actions and desires of your visitors. People are fickle, what they like today, they despise tomorrow. As new social media platforms are launched people switch their loyalties. It’s predicted that 700,000 under 24 year olds, who used Facebook in 2017, will have switched to other platforms by 2018. You website is the glue that holds your online presence together.
